Money is not enough

Time and again my elderly mother was discharged from hospital and told she could manage with a ‘care package’, only to be re-admitted after another fall.

It’s not enough to keep throwing money at the problem. We need a return of convalescent care to unblock hospital beds, but still give care to those who need it.

Being the wrong side of 60, I am terrified when I think how I may end my days.
