UNITED OPEN TALKS FOR FRANCE STAR

MANCHESTER UNITED are in talks with Monaco over a move for France centre back Axel Disasi. The 24-year-old, who was part of France’s World Cup squad in Qatar, has been linked with several Premier League clubs. Sportsmail understands that multiple top-flight clubs are tracking the defender and initial negotiations have taken place with United. Sources in France expect him to leave Monaco either this month or in the summer transfer window.

United are expected to be in the market for a new centre back at the end of the season amid ongoing uncertainty over the long-term future of Harry Maguire. Sources are adamant he will not leave United during this window. But the England international remains down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag.
