The day Meghan ‘laid her hands on Diana’s grave for guidance’
MEGHAN Markle closed her eyes and laid her hands on Princess Diana’s headstone to ask her for ‘clarity and guidance’, Prince Harry reveals in his memoir.
He recalls taking his then girlfriend to his mother’s final resting place in August
017, the 0th anniversary of her death. It was a few weeks before he proposed.
At her family’s request, the princess’s grave is on an island in the centre of a lake at Althorp in Northamptonshire, the Spencers’ ancestral home.
The exact spot has never been revealed to avoid encouraging ghouls or fans, but Harry has now confirmed its location. It marked by an oval shaped stone and there is a memorial urn on the site.
Harry says he laid flowers on the grave. Meghan then left him alone for a moment of reflection, as he told his mother how much he missed her and asked her for her help to see with ‘clarity’.
After that he gave Meghan some time alone at the grave. When he returned, he found her on her knees with her eyes closed and her palms placed flat against the stone. She said she was asking his mother for ‘clarity and guidance’.
