Moyes has a fortnight to save his job

- By SAMI MOKBEL

WEST HAM boss David Moyes is entering a two-week period that is set to decide his future. There remains uncertainty over the Scot’s position, although he is said to have the backing of chairman David Sullivan.

The Hammers face Brentford in the FA Cup today looking for their first domestic victory in nine games. However, the FA Cup is not a top priority given their relegation concerns. Their next two Premier League matches, against fellow strugglers Wolves and Everton, will be pivotal. West Ham are 17th in the table, only outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

West Ham have stuck by Moyes but doubts have grown during a disappointing campaign.

If the club are forced into a change, they will prioritise a manager with a proven record in English football.

The recent appointment of former club captain Mark Noble as sporting director provides an intriguing dynamic. Noble only started his new role at the London Stadium on Monday, and the prospect of him dismissing a manager he was playing under last season as one of his first acts would put the Hammers legend in an awkward situation.

For now, the club hope Moyes can trigger an improvement in results at Brentford today.
