Keep calm and chuckle on...

Despite THAT book, the King shares joke in public – as Zara and Mike enjoy the polo in Oz

- By Mary O’Connor

HE COULD be forgiven for appearing world-weary after his son’s devastating attacks on the Royal Family.

Yet King Charles looked anything but while out in public for the first time since extracts of Prince Harry’s book sent shockwaves through the palace.

The 74-year-old smiled and stopped to chat to well-wishers – and even enjoyed a joke with one as he attended a service yesterday at St Lawrence’s Church in Castle Rising, which is close to his Sandringham estate.

The monarch, in a long brown overcoat and charcoal suit paired with a pink tie, appeared in good spirits as he greeted members of the public in Norfolk despite a tumultuous week of revelations from his youngest son.

And it seems that other royals are following the King’s example to keep calm and carry on.

Zara and Mike Tindall looked relaxed

‘Tumultuous week of revelations’

as they rubbed shoulders with Hollywood royalty – the actor Chris Hemsworth and his actress wife Elsa Pataky – at a showjumping and polo event on Australia’s Gold Coast.

The daughter of the Princess Royal looked chic in a bright blue belted dress with puffed sleeves while her exrugby player husband wore a light pink blazer and white trousers at the Magic Millions event in Queensland.

The 41-year- old former eventing world champion embraced Miss Pataky while World Cup winner Mr Tindall, 44, was seen in lively conversation with the Australian Thor actor.

And not content to merely watch from the sidelines, Zara appeared delighted at the chance to show off her equestrian skills as she later took part in a polo match.

The Duke of Sussex’s autobiography, due to be published tomorrow, accidentally went on sale in Spain last week – leading to a scramble to obtain and translate the memoir.
