Arteta in Guardiola firing line
MANCHESTER CITY’S reward for thrashing Chelsea 4-0 last night is an FA Cup fourth-round tie at home to Oxford or Arsenal.
If the Gunners can avoid a giantkilling at the Kassam Stadium tonight, it would pit Mikel Arteta against his mentor Pep Guardiola. Elsewhere in the draw, Paul Ince will make an emotional return to Old Trafford with his Reading side after they were drawn against Manchester United for the fourth time in the last 16 years. National League team Boreham Wood, the lowest-ranked side left in the competition, will be rewarded with a home tie against Cardiff or Leeds if they can win their replay against Accrington. Fellow fifth-tier side Wrexham, who stunned Coventry on Saturday, will host four-time winners Sheffield United, while Brighton face the winners of Liverpool and Wolves’ replay in the only guaranteed all-Premier League tie. Stevenage, who produced a stunning late turnaround to overcome a 59-place gap and knock out Premier League side Aston Villa, go to Stoke, while eighttime winners Tottenham travel to Championship side Preston. Fourth-round ties will be played on the weekend of January 27-30.
