Electric car fans

I CAN see that for many people an electric car is not suitable due to the unreliability of charging away from home (Letters).

however, if you’re comfortably off, have a home charger and it’s a second car, they are thrilling.

I love my BMWi3 — it’s the most exhilarating and cheapest-to-run car I’ve ever driven.

I agree they are impractical for longer journeys, given the lack of public chargers, but surely the environmental benefits are worthwhile.
