Duke makes Eton mess of his Queen Mother recollections
PRINCE Harry describes his ‘vivid’ memories of when the Queen Mother died in his memoir – except he gets the details wrong, including which country he was in.
The duke gives details about the moment he learnt of her death in March 2002. He writes that he was at Eton, adding: ‘It was just before Easter, the weather bright and warm.’ In fact, Prince Harry was 700 miles away in Switzerland. He was skiing with his father and brother in Klosters, where the weather was cloudy and cold.
In his book, the Duke of Sussex boasts of his ‘crisp’ memory for places he has been to. He also thanks a ‘fact checker’.
A report from the time of their presence in Switzerland can still be found on the BBC website.
