Now Montecito home is evacuated amid storms

- By Hope Sloop

The Montecito safe haven harry and Meghan fled to two years ago has been urgently ordered to evacuate amid fears of devastating mudslides and flooding.

All 9,000 residents in the area, along with 14,000 others along the coast, were told to leave their homes yesterday after storms in California saw 14 people killed.

On Monday, harry was spotted arriving at a TV studio in New York but it was not known if Meghan and the children were with him or at their mansion.

The couple have lived in their $23million (£21million) home in the seaside city since 2020 after stepping back from their royal duties in March of that year.

The urgent appeal comes five years to the day after 23 people in Montecito were killed in a mudslide. This is the second evacuation order for the Southern California area in a week.

The US state remains under a state of emergency and President Joe Biden has vowed to send help to the area.
