WFH saved me
I OBJeCT to the harsh generalisations and criticism of those of us who work from home (letters).
I work in a specialist area of insurance and before the pandemic jobs were hard to come by that were within travelling distance of my home. I was spending £200 a month on petrol, driving more than an hour each way to get to work and hating every minute of it.
The pandemic had one small mercy in that I didn’t have to do that any more. With no disruption from the banal chatting of colleagues about reality Tv and other nonsense, I am more productive WFH.
I have a new job at a company based two hours away from me that I wouldn’t have been able to take if I couldn’t WFH. Some people may abuse home-working, but why should I be forced to lose my job by having to go to an office every day?
