Sales and profits leap at Warpaint London

-

SALES at cosmetics firm Warpaint London soared as it cashed in on Christmas.

The Buckinghamshire mascara maker, which operates brands Technic and W7 ( pictured), said annual sales are expected to hit £64m, up from to £50m in 2021, when it releases results in April.

It expects profits of £10m, up from £6.9m in 2021.

Chief executive Sam Bazini said it had a strong final quarter, with steady online growth and expansion in the US. It was set up by Bazini and Eoin Macleod, its managing director, who started by selling make-up in London.

Warpaint floated on AIM in 2016, raising £23m. Shares have rallied over 50pc in the last six months as it rides out spending pressures, selling products in stores like Wilko and Superdrug.

Its fortunes stand in stark contrast to rival Revolution Beauty, whose shares suspended in September following accounting concerns.
