Do your duty first
I AM a retired civil servant and firmly believe those employed in the public sector have no right to withdraw their services. What they do is too important to society.
In 1981, there was a strike by employees in the department where I worked. I crossed the picket line to fulfil my duties. Several of my colleagues who did the same were harangued. Some working relationships never recovered.
Strikers forget they signed up to be servants of the people.
