FOLLOWING a visit to the local DIY store, my wife returned home to inform me: ‘Watering cans are on sale for just £1.’

‘Did it have a rose on it?’ I asked her.

‘No,’ she replied. ‘It’s just a plain green one.’

I meant did it come with a traditional spray head, which is called a rose.
