Drugs wreck lives

-

PRINCE Harry admits he has experimented with drugs and foolishly recommends psychedelic drugs as part of therapy.

Doesn’t he realise that taking recreational drugs not only ruins the life of a user but that of their family and everyone who cares for them?

Harry has rehab available at the click of his fingers. Most drug users steal or prostitute themselves because they have no other financial means to get help.

My son was a beautiful and loving boy. When we discovered he had been smoking cannabis from the age of 14, my husband and I sat him down and told him of the danger of taking drugs. He promised us he

would stop. Later we found out he was using cocaine and had become a thief to fund his heroin addiction.

He had two lovely sons with a decent young woman, but lost his relationship with them when he went to prison.

We stood by him as all parents do. When he came out, he lived on the streets as there is no help out there if you don’t have money.

He came back to live with us, was prescribed methadone and managed to hold down a job and commit to a new relationship, but the health damage had been done and he died young. His death certificate said it was a heart attack, but we knew it was due to years of drug abuse.

If I was well enough, I’d like to devote my time to visiting schools and telling my story.

I might be able to send a message to other young people that drugs destroy families and kill.
