Nursing crisis

-

I’M A staff nurse with 41 years of experience. The Government wants to bring in minimum safe numbers of staff during a strike — don’t they know we are already working at unsafe staffing levels?

Yes, nurses are requesting higher pay, but we are more concerned that patient safety is being compromised and will only get worse unless the NHS is reformed.

If the problems with GPs and social care were addressed, then the issues that are facing hospitals would soon be resolved.

KAREN SOUTHERN, Sheffield.

THE hapless Government is hellbent on legislating to impose legal minimum service levels for essential workers on strike.

I assume that in turn Cabinet ministers will face prosecution for their abject failure to provide a minimum service on any day.

ROBIN ALLAN, Street, Somerset.
