From China, the new electric Ora Funky Cat C took top safety honours for small family car, while the Wey Coffee 01 triumphed in the large off-road category.

Korea’s Hyundai Ioniq 6 won the bestin-class award in the large family car category achieving an ‘exceptional’ 97 per cent for adult occupant protection.

EuroNCAP said: ‘Tesla has made a huge impact on the European car market due to its design, ethos and safety performance. The Model S and Model Y both achieved the highest score of 98 per cent in safety assist of all vehicles.’
