Greta kicked off coal protest site
GRETA Thunberg was carried away by police from an anticoal mine protest in
Germany yesterday.
The Swedish climate activist, 20, right, appeared to be lifted off the ground by officers before being led away. She had joined around 300 demonstrators opposing the razing of a village in western Germany to make way for a coal mine expansion.
Miss Thunberg sang and danced with other protesters near the edge of the mine, according to reports.
Police said she briefly sat on an embankment before officers carried her away after she failed to comply with calls to move for her own safety. She then went on her way. Last night officers cleared activists from the site in Luetzerath, apart from a pair holed up in a tunnel.
