It’s not too late to be a proud country again
AM I the only person puzzled at the rapidity with which our once proud nation has collapsed from being a bastion of decency, honesty and integrity into a thirdrate, grubby little island?
The standards we once held dear have been eroded by greed, duplicity and mendaciousness.
We are facing rampant poverty, food banks, an unreliable health service, lawlessness, failed educational standards, corporate moguls ripping off customers, what feels like legalised theft by utilities, floundering and lying politicians and invisible police despite the knife crime epidemic.
However, the situation is not irretrievable. All it would take is for the Government to bring the Whitehall Blob into line, get rid of the NHS’s over-stuffed management, rein in corporate greed and bring back law and order.
