Keir’s NHS folly

-

HOW can sir Keir starmer think he will be taken seriously by calling for patients to be able to refer themselves to specialists (Mail)?

Has he not noticed that people go to A&e with minor cuts, the common cold and headaches? His idea would make the problems worse for the nHs. ridiculous, naive and desperate.

CHRIS SHARP, Leeds. HAs the Labour leader lost the plot with his idea of self- diagnosis so patients bypass a gP to see a consultant? A charter for hypochondriacs would finish off the nHs.

IAN VERDON, Watford, Herts. sIr KeIr sTArMer has correctly identified the major problem with the nHs is the bureaucracy.

Those moaning about his suggestions for reform are contributing nothing to reorganising the creaking monolith.

BARRIE WARREN, Bury, Lancs. AT LeAsT the words ‘ reform the nHs’ have passed the Labour leader’s lips when all we get from Health secretary steve Barclay is silence.

TERRY COATES, Birmingham. seLF-reFerrAL will only increase waiting lists. What will Labour propose next: dIY surgery to reduce waiting lists?

GRAHAM MARSH, Stockport, Cheshire.
