Lovely bit of crumpet

IT’S not just in the North that crumpet has a different meaning (Letters).

When I was 17 and working in a Surrey newspaper office, I accepted a classified advert for an estate car described as ‘an excellent crumpet wagon’.

My boss laughed and I didn’t know why.
