A big night out... with Mum and Dad in tow

Stars’ family fun at Cirque du Soleil show

- By Bill Bowkett

A NIGHT at the circus means breathtaking stunts and fun for all the family.

And it was no different for a host of celebrities last night as they attended the premiere of Cirque du Soleil’s dazzling new show in London.

Actress and model Liz Hurley, 57, was joined on the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall by her son Damian, 20, while The Crown’s Greg Wise, 56, was accompanied by his daughter Gaia, 23.

Only Fools and Horses’s legend Sir David Jason, 82, enjoyed the big show along with wife Gill Hinchcliffe, 63, and their daughter Sophie Mae, 21. Meanwhile, Queen guitarist Brian May, 75, wore a top hat and mask alongside his wife Anita Dobson.

The Cirque du Soleil production follows the story of a 19th century inventor who creates a machine that defies the laws of time and space. As he reinvents items around him, he is joined by characters from another dimension.

Performers reach dizzying heights of up to 45ft and speeds of more than 30mph as they carry out daredevil stunts. Meanwhile, other members of the 46-strong troupe create human pyramids.

The show will run until March 5. Canadian-based Cirque du Soleil – Circus of the Sun – is the largest contemporary circus producer in the world and its shows have won a string of top awards.

More than 100million people have attended productions worldwide.
