At one point in his furious autobiogra­phy Spare, Prince Harry boldly states: ‘there’s just as much truth in what I remember, and how I remember it, as in socalled objective facts.’

Can this be so? on tuesday, to help the history students of the 22nd century sort the socalled facts from the socalled fiction, I presented the first part of the multiplech­oice section of their GCSe history paper on their set text, Spare. And now comes the second, and more difficult, paper:
