It’s deja vu for Gere as this co-star looks pretty familiar

OLD smoothie Richard Gere looked delighted to be on the red carpet with his co-star Emma Roberts at a New York screening of forthcoming romantic comedy Maybe I Do.

It’s not clear what Gere, 73, was whispering in the ear of the 31-year-old actress, who was wearing a sheer, red dress. But he may have been remarking on how much she looked like her aunt — and his former co-star — Julia Roberts, 55, in their 1990 classic film Pretty Woman (pictured below).

Emma, who’s the daughter of Julia’s brother Eric, has said she never felt pressure to emulate her Oscar-winning aunt’s glittering film career. ‘I never aspired to be her,’ she said last year. ‘I love her so much, I love her work, but I’m just doing my own thing.’
