Can’t you just be grateful, Cate?

I HAVEN’T yet seen Cate Blanchett’s new movie, Tar, but I will. I love her work. But what is she on about when she says that she finds her Critics Choice award ‘ridiculous’ and claims she’s sick of the ‘televised horse race’ of award ceremonies — ‘ this patriarchal pyramid where someone stands up here’?

Maybe it’s a touch of contrary outspoken Australianness. To me, Cate, it just sounds ungrateful.
