THE NEW DIARY

A brand new diary, how exciting.

Every day I’ll do some writing.

All my innermost thoughts and feelings,

My hopes, my dreams, my online dealings!

Two weeks in and I’ve fallen behind. There’s not much to write of interest, I find.

A trip to Tesco, a bump on the head,

I did some knitting, I went to bed.

I don’t think I’ll be the next Samuel Pepys, A glance at my diary could send you to sleep. No great plague, just Omicron sniffles,

No great fire, just lots of celebrity piffle.

I’ll begin again, perhaps early spring?

Who knows what pleasures good weather could bring. Birdsong, daffodils, trips to the park, Walking the dog in daylight, not dark. Next Christmas a diary won’t be on my list, This everyday pressure’s not something I’ll miss!

Mrs Glynis Williams, Oundle, Northants.
