FOREST EYE LOAN DEAL FOR TOON STRIKER WOOD

÷ NOTTINGHAM FOREST are in talks with NEWCASTLE UNITED over a loan deal for striker Chris Wood. Forest need cover as Taiwo Awoniyi is out for two months with a groin injury. Wood, 31, is open to the move which would be with an option to buy. Newcastle held a recruitment meeting yesterday as they assess their options. Wood has 18 months left on his Newcastle contract. Forest are also working on adding a goalkeeper and have

asked Paris Saint-Germain about Keylor Navas, 36.

■ LEICESTER CITY are discussing a £17million deal to sign Victor Kristiansen (right) from FC Copenhagen. The Danish club have confirmed the approach for their left back, 20. Leicester have also asked about Fiorentina winger Nicolas Gonzalez but the Italians are reluctant to sell.

■ DANGO OUATTARA will have a medical at BOURNEMOUTH today before completing his £20m move from Lorient. The winger, 20, will sign a five-year contract. Bournemouth are also considering an offer for Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo, 23.

■ LEEDS UNITED are weighing up a bid for Servette centre back Diogo Monteiro, 17. He made his firstteam debut at 16 and has captained Portugal Under 17s. STOKE CITY and Blackburn want Leeds striker Joe Gelhardt on loan.
