You CAN recycle all those pods
COFFEE pods have become an increasingly popular and tasty way to enjoy the world’s favourite drink.
But users are left with scores of aluminium capsules which they can’t throw in the recycling bin because they’re full of spent coffee grounds. Now they’re being urged to send the used pods to Podback, a nationwide recycling service funded by brands such as Nespresso, Nescafe Dolce Gusto and Tassimo.
Free bags can be ordered from Podback on the internet. Full bags can then be collected by courier or dropped off at shops in the Collect + scheme. They can also be posted to Podback free – and in some council areas can be left on top of recycling bins on collection day.
The grounds are removed in the processing.
