Give us the good stuff
THE BBC has managed to go round in a complete circle.
I was an avid listener of Radio Caroline from day one in 1964 after the frustration of Radio Luxembourg’s tendency to fade out.
Caroline came about because the BBC was ignoring the new era of pop music. Eventually, it had to capitulate and Radio 1 and 2 began.
Now we listeners of the good stuff — the music of the 1960, 1970s and 1980s — are being driven away from Radio 2 after being abandoned by Radio 1 years ago.
