A GRITTY and exciting film inspired by the real battle of Narvik, whose inhabitants fought a two-month battle against the Nazis, who sought control of the small Norwegian port to secure their supply of iron ore. Inserted into the story is the drama of a fictional soldier (Carl Martin Eggesbo, pictured) and his wife — him fighting in the snow, her acting as a translator for the Nazis.
