■ WE ARE a retired couple who have decided to stop donating to the local food bank. We can’t reconcile helping people who are on a far larger income than us.

■ I WAS born a few years after the war and everyone I knew was short of money, but I never heard of a food bank or saw any beggars. I suspect some people are using food banks just so they don’t have to economise.
