Living well on less

-

BETWEEN us, my husband and I have never earned as much as a full-time nurse’s salary.

Since my children were born. I have only worked part-time. First of all so I could bring up my family and then due to health reasons.

On a lot less than £32,000 a year, we’ve brought up two children and bought a house. We have a week’s holiday every year and a couple of nights away.

We have never used a food bank or claimed any benefits.

I am surprised that people are bleating on about how they are hard up while driving around in expensive cars, living in large houses and having a couple of holidays abroad every year.

It may surprise you to hear that I am a nurse.

Name and address supplied. I GET by on £24,000 a year and each week put an item of food in the charity box at the supermarket. I believed it went to the homeless, not nurses earning a great deal more than me.

It’s shameful they are depriving destitute people of this food.
