Our readers back Boris plea to help
AN OVERWHELMING number of Mail readers believe the West is not doing enough to help Ukraine win the war against Russia.
In total, 9,287 readers voted on the Mail Plus poll, with 74 per cent in agreement with Mr Johnson and 26 per cent saying the West are doing enough to support the war effort.
In an article for the Mail yesterday, Mr Johnson implored that hundreds more tanks, planes and armoured cars must be sent to Ukraine for a final push to victory.
He said: ‘Let’s give Ukrainians all they need to win now.’ While he praised the UK for sending 14 Challenger 2 tanks, he said: ‘Now is the time for others to follow our lead.’
The former prime minister called on America, Germany, Poland and many other Western powers to provide military arms for Ukraine.
Mr Johnson added: ‘[Putin] is now preparing a counterpunch and… [Ukraine] will need our help for that next and decisive phase.’
