FOLLOW an especially nail-biting procedure tonight as neurosurgeon Alexis Joannides performs brain surgery on a conscious patient. Yes, you read that right. Ruth was an intensive care nurse at Addenbrooke’s, so is one of their own, and her aggressive tumour would kill her in 18 months without this surgery.
