Juventus eyeing up De Zerbi

- DAVID KENT

BRIGHTON manager Roberto De Zerbi is under consideration at Juventus if they replace head coach Massimiliano Allegri at the end of the season.

De Zerbi, 43, has enjoyed a strong start on the south coast after replacing Graham Potter last September, keeping the club in the hunt for Europe and securing eye-catching wins over Chelsea and Liverpool. The Italian signed a four-year deal at the Amex Stadium and is enjoying life in the Premier League. De Zerbi said in a recent interview that he missed Italian football, but added he had no current plans to return. Juventus are appealing against a 15-point deduction for alleged financial irregularities. The Serie A club’s entire board resigned in November and regardless of the appeal’s success, a new era is imminent there. Tottenham boss Antonio Conte and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, both of whom played for Juventus, are also on the club’s shortlist if Allegri leaves.
