In their fifties ... and fabulous!
Davina and Kirstie are both pictures of youth
WHILE one prefers to have a fuller face and the other has a jawline you could cut your finger on, you can’t deny Kirstie Allsopp and Davina McCall both look fabulous in their fifties.
The TV presenters were dressed in eye-catching yet drastically different outfits for a magazine interview and a lingerie advert respectively.
Ms Allsopp, 51, who lost two stone last year after changing her diet and fitness regime, said she doesn’t want to shed too much weight as she thinks being a ‘little plumper’ keeps her looking youthful.
The Location, Location, Location presenter told Good Housekeeping magazine: ‘It does help being a little plumper because you have a bit more flesh on your face.
‘I’m torn between the desire to lose weight and the desire not to have it fall off my face.’
Meanwhile Ms McCall, 55, was the picture of body confidence as she posed in black lingerie for a Valentine’s Day campaign for clothing brand JD Williams.
The Masked Singer panellist is known for being a fitness fanatic and has said she likes to run every day. Her workout DVDs were bestsellers in the noughties and she now posts videos of her exercises on YouTube.
But property guru Ms Allsopp said despite her youthful appearance, she doesn’t have a ‘particularly healthy relationship with ageing’ and turning 50 was not something she was ‘thrilled’ about.
‘When you’re younger, your metabolism is better, your skin is better and your bones are better. You get older and you’re suddenly a lot achier. But I have to say, I’m probably fitter now than I’ve ever been,’ she said.
Ms Allsopp dropped from a size 16 to a size 12 last year after going on the ‘metabolic diet’ which saw her cut out bread, potatoes and wine. n Read the full interview with Kirstie Allsopp in Good Housekeeping on sale today.
