PARTY DOWN, LIONSGATE+
AN offbeat hit from the early 2000s, Party Down’s tales of a bumbling catering crew of jobbing actors and entertainers filling time before their next gigs by serving canapes at Beverly Hills parties were a low-key joy. After two all-tooshort series it ended, and its hugely talented cast went off to hit shows such as Parks And Recreation and Glee. Now it’s back for a belated but very welcome third series. COMEDY SPECIAL A Whole Lifetime With Jamie Demetriou, Netflix
COMEDIAN and actor Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats) packs all of human experience into a single smart and very funny hour. Using assorted sly, modern and often unexpected songs and sketches, he walks us through the stages of life from birth to death (his skit about a pair of grumpy bed-bound teenagers at odds with their mum over sex is particularly spot on). Demetriou has roped in a starry collection of his comedy mates, so watch out for Katy Wix, Ellie White, Sian Clifford and Kiell Smith-Bynoe among others.
