Cables hazard

-

LAST week, I walked past a cable running across the footpath to charge an electric car.

Pedestrians already have to contend with cyclists, e-scooters and untidy wheelie bins on pavements without an added hazard such as loose cables in their path. I worry that this is likely to be an increasing problem as a result of the push towards all-electric cars.

This particular property had space on the driveway if the owners had bothered to juggle two cars around, but many properties (terrace houses and flats) have no space to charge their cars.

when you see how many cars are parked on the road, I can imagine having to cross hundreds of cables on a walk unless this consequence of

the electric car revolution is considered more seriously. BARRY GIGGInS, Windsor, Berks.
