If Boehly still has faith, he must hold his nerve

- By CHRIS SUTTON

Todd Boehly wants Chelsea to be a world leader in trophy collecting. he spent a fortune assembling players he felt can push for honours and now needs to decide if Graham Potter is the manager who can guide them to glory.

All supporters have their opinion, the majority slotting into the ‘get rid’ category. But Boehly must trust his instincts. It comes down to trust and belief in Potter. he was hired because of his track record with Brighton. If, deep down, Boehly still believes Potter is his man, then he needs to hold his nerve and back the boss. This is new territory for Boehly. he was pictured watching training over the last week and was at Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat by Tottenham. he will know that owning a football club is not all fun and cigars and celebrating wins. The pressure is palpable. There may be part of Boehly which feels, if he sacks Potter, it will be a bad look on him. But if he has unwavering faith he should stick with him.
