...and after weeks of keeping her head down, look who’s just popped in to share a coffee
THE Duchess of Sussex yesterday starred in a video promoting a ‘wellness’ coffee brand – her first public appearance following the release of Harry’s bombshell memoir.
The brand, Clevr Blends, posted a video to Instagram showing Meghan drinking a superfood latte with staff, pictured left.
Meghan, 41, has been keeping an unusually low profile this year, unlike husband Prince Harry, 8, who went on a whirlwind publicity tour for his book, Spare, in January. The duchess announced she was investing in California-based Clevr Blends in 2020 and sent her friend Oprah Winfrey a gift basket of its superfood drinks. It was her first investment after the couple moved to Los Angeles, although it is unclear how much money she put in.
The start-up sells latte powders, with flavours including matcha and chai.
Meghan wears a Burberry ‘Maythorne’ silk trench coat and a white Ralph Lauren shirt in the Instagram video as she chats over her latte. Narrating, Clevr Blends founder Hannah Mendoza describes how the brand boomed after Meghan’s backing – and got a shot of superstar free publicity when Oprah shared a video of herself unboxing the gift from Meghan on Instagram.
Ms Mendoza said: ‘Our small but mighty team was so not ready for this and ended up selling out for two months.’
