The magic of Motty
QuItE rightly, tributes have been flooding in for John Motson from famous names of football and his journalist colleagues. But he was friendly and approachable to the normal supporter, too.
When I bumped into him at Stamford Bridge in November 2019, I remarked how we all missed him on tV — to which he replied, switch it off and listen to him on Radio 5 Live! Farewell, Motty. there will never be another who comes close.
