reAder Mrs Quinn (Letters) may think ill of us oldies for being wary of the internet — but porn used to be available only if you reached it down from the top shelf in full view of everyone. Now it is a serious problem for far too many.

We read about thousands of people who have lost money through internet banking, while online adverts swamp our screens, computers crash and viruses are common.

yes, some of us oldies are afraid of the internet, especially when we see that 95 per cent of the population can’t (not won’t) put it down.
