I ThOROUGhLY enjoyed the last episode of Call The Midwife. however, the scriptwriters got a couple of historical

points wrong. In the early Sixties we didn’t have hen dos and we had certainly never heard of a spa day.

Our local ‘spa’ in London was Granville Road Baths, where people without baths at home went for their weekly wash — not at all glamorous!
