THIS will put the cat among the pigeons: film star Taron Egerton claims that the James Bond producers have identified Daniel Craig’s successor.

‘They’ve already got someone — and it’s not me,’ asserts Kingsman star Egerton, 33, who had been trumpeted as a contender for 007.

‘I’ve never been part of the conversations. I’ve never met [ the producers]. They’ve never enquired about me. I just don’t think I am the right person for that.’

Barbara Broccoli, who coproduces the films with Michael G. Wilson, insisted in January: ‘We have to first figure out what we’re going to do story-wise and everything. So casting will be way off.

‘We’re certainly not casting at the moment and don’t have any plans to cast for some time.’
