Help strugglers

-

We are told (Mail) that Chancellor Jeremy hunt will have ‘an extra £ 56 billion of Budget firepower’ thanks to falling energy prices and a stronger economy, enabling him to cut taxes when he delivers his Budget statement on March 15.

the first measures he should take: cut the basic rate of income tax, raise the personal threshold to at least £15,000 pa, and increase the state pension to a level comparable with pensions on the Continent. give the people on the lowest incomes a fighting chance to pay their bills.

JEAN COMBEN, Truro, Cornwall.
