Nimble fingers

ABOUT 50 years ago, when our children were aged six and four, our two elderly neighbours found it hard to open childproof containers.

They solved the problem by leaving a stepladder against their side of the fence. They would ascend this, shout for one of our children, then hand down the ‘childproof’ containers for them to open.
