READING MAY FACE COMPENSATION CLAIM
PETERBOROUGH are exploring legal avenues after Sportsmail revealed that Reading are set to be hit with a six-point penalty. Peterborough were relegated from the Championship last season after finishing four points behind Reading, who were deducted six points for overspending. Six more points were suspended pending Reading’s compliance with an EFL business plan, which they are thought to have breached. Peterborough, who are eight points off the League One play-off places, declined to comment but are thought to be monitoring the situation. Relegation is estimated to have cost them more than £10million in lost revenue and a drop in player valuations. They will examine whether they have a case to claim compensation.
