AMTE Power surged after it delivered its first specialist battery cells to a customer for testing. The group, which typically makes batteries for electric cars, said its non-rechargeable lithium-ion cells have been designed for use in ‘some of the most difficult environments on earth’. They were made at its site in Thurso, Scotland, which will continue to ramp up production and act as a hub for research and development. It rose 8.3pc, or 4.5p, to 58.5p.
