WHEN George (pictured) was arrested in 1998 for ‘lewd behaviour’ in a public toilet in California, it could have ended his career. The arrest shone a glaring light on his sexuality — while those close to him knew he was gay, it was news to many of his fansfans. But George refused to be shamed, and hit back in the most powerful way he could: through his music.
