I was naughty: his crimes

■ 1974: Jailed for seven years for robbery, aggravated burglary, assault with intent to rob and possession of a firearm. While in prison he was convicted of wounding in 1975, 1978 and 1985.

■ 1987: Released from prison, but was back inside 69 days later when he was jailed for seven years for robbing a jewellers.

■ 1992: Released but jailed again weeks later when he got eight years for intent to rob.

■ 1994: Given seven years for false imprisonment and blackmail after taking deputy governor Aidan Wallace hostage.

■ 1997: Took a deputy governor, staff and three inmates hostage. Given another five years.

■ 1999: Took art teacher Phil Danielson hostage for two days. Given a life sentence with a minimum term of three years which expired in 2003.

■ 2014: Given three years for assaulting a prison governor for allegedly withholding his letters.
