False allegations

-

FORMeR Acting Met Commissioner Sir Stephen house has strongly denied referring to the bulk of rape cases as ‘regretful sex’, calling this description ‘abhorrent’ (Mail).

however, it is true false allegations of rape are sometimes made, for this reason or others including anger, jealousy, mental health issues or to seek financial compensation.

Until cases in which false allegations are made receive as much attention as genuine cases, those wrongly accused will continue to suffer, as will their families. This is unfair both on them and on those who have been raped or sexually assaulted.
